Joshua Lamberg

CEO and Founder

Josh Lamberg is the founder and CEO of Lamb Insurance Services, the nation’s largest insurance broker dedicated exclusively to human service organizations. Prior to founding Lamb Insurance Services, he worked for insurance carriers- Philadelphia Insurance Companies and Liberty Mutual. Before starting his career in the insurance industry, Josh had a short career as a professional baseball player; a catcher with several different teams including a short minor league stint with the Cincinnati Reds organization.

The values and ethics that created his success as a professional athlete are the foundation of the character embraced by every Lamb employee. Attitude, Effort, and Preparation are the core elements of his company’s success. Grit, relentless drive, and continuous improvement are Lamb’s best practices.

Josh is a graduate of the University of Richmond with a degree in Rhetoric and Communications.

Salvatore V. Abano

President

Sal joins Lamb as President with over 30 years of P&C Insurance experience having served in multiple C-level and senior management roles in Operations, Strategy and Innovation, Business Transformation, and Technology for Convelo Insurance Group, Hiscox Insurance, Argo Group International, Tower Group International, QBE the Americas, Kemper Insurance, Munich Re America and AIG.

In addition to his corporate experience, Sal completed a 24-month overseas tour of duty with the United States Army as Chief Technology Officer, Military and Technology Operations, in Operation Iraq Freedom III. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge among other prestigious awards during his career; he is now retired military officer with over 26 years of service in the United States Marine Corps and United States Army reserves.

Sal has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from Brooklyn College - The City University of New York, a Master's in Business Administration degree from Regis University, and executive certifications from Harvard Business School and MIT- Sloan School of Management.

Charles Alexander

General Counsel (Signers National, President)

Prior to joining Lamb Insurance Services, Charles held a variety of senior executive positions at the Xerox Corporation including Associate General Counsel, North American Operations, as well as Senior Vice President for Sales, Marketing, and Engineering. In addition, Charles has lectured and consulted on a wide variety of legal and business topics.

As General Counsel, Charles manages the legal function, obtains and oversees the work of outside counsel, and ensures all legal affairs are handled in a way that is far and efficient for the company, its partners, and its nation-wide base of clients.

As Signers National President, Charles is responsible for the company’s strategic plans and execution as well as mergers and acquisitions. Charles has been a key plank in the company’s growth, allowing it to grow at a compounded rate of more the 20% per year for over a decade.

Alexander has a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a Juris Doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. He has also completed executive MBA coursework at the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton), the University of Michigan, and Duke University (Fuqua). In recent years, he has devoted significant time to his leadership roles on the Board of Directors for multiple non-profit organizations with particular emphasis on addressing the issues of inner-city poverty.

MANAGEMENT TEAM

Michael Lamberg

National Sales Director

Michael is the National Sales Director, leading the growth of Lamb’s sales team across the US. He and his team serve as advocates for Lamb clients, helping to structure the most cost effective and expansive insurance programs. Michael joined Lamb insurance Services in 2013 and spent the first 9 years of his professional experience running a service team, an experience which still guides him in his educational and customer centric approach. Prior to joining the Lamb team, Michael spent eight years at Thomas Reuters as a valued member of the Corporate Services Group where he was responsible for providing stock market advisory research for publicly traded companies. In addition to his knowledge and understanding of insurance products designed to help human service organizations, Michael is an expert in Worker's Compensation offerings here at Lamb Insurance Services. Michael earned his BA from Syracuse University and his Masters (Cum Laude) from New York University.

Liam Kemmerley

Director of Sales

Liam joined Lamb Insurance Services in 2012. Liam oversees business development for Mid-Atlantic, South Carolina and Texas regions. Prior to joining the Lamb team, Liam spent time working on the insurance carrier side at Philadelphia Insurance Companies in their Home Office and New Jersey operations and worked for two National Wholesale Brokerages focusing on hard to place Workers Compensation and distressed Human Services commercial lines business. In addition to his knowledge and understanding of insurance products designed to help human service organization, Liam has gravitated towards helping organizations with more complex programs, services and medical related exposures.

Liam earned his B.S. from Villanova University majoring in Finance with minors in both International Business and German.

Doug Penley

National Marketing Director

Doug joined Lamb Insurance Services in 2020. Prior to joining Lamb, he spent time on the insurance carrier side at Nationwide Insurance with various sales leadership roles across the Southeast. Doug has deep knowledge and understanding of insurance products designed to help non-profit and human services organizations.

Doug earned his BSBA with a concentration in Risk and Insurance from Appalachian State University. Also, Doug has obtained his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and his Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations.

Joe Chamberlain

Managing Director of Service and Marketing

Joe brings to Lamb more than 30 years of Underwriting and Operations experience within the insurance industry. Originally trained as an underwriter handling life, health and personal lines, he gradually took on broader operational duties.

His experience includes roles as Vice President, Operations for Agency Holding Company - a personal lines auto writer in Maryland; Senior Director of Operations and then Area Vice President of Sales for ADP (Automatic Data Processing ) Insurance Agency - a start-up for which he was a charter member; Managing Vice President, Operations, with Tower Group Companies; Senior Vice President with Preferred Concepts, LLC which specializes in real estate; Chief Operations Officer with Innovative Coverage Concepts which specializes in restaurant coverage and Vice President, Service Delivery with CNA where he was responsible for more than 500 employees.

Joe received his undergraduate degree from The College of New Jersey and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Monmouth University. He also obtained the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt designation in 2015.

Born and raised in NJ, he lives in Old Bridge with his wife Michele and daughters Jessica and Nicole.

Shannon Raffington

Managing Director of Human Resources

Shannon joined Lamb Insurance Services in 2018. As Managing Director of Human Resources, Shannon serves as a strategic partner to the executive team and people leader to design and implement HR programs and processes that align with the needs of the business and culture. Understanding what makes us great, Shannon is helping embed our values into everything we do. Practicing human resources in a variety of industries (transportation, food and beverage, apparel & fashion and government administration) and serving several years as an HR Generalist and Business Partner has provided her the opportunity to work in all areas of HR including recruiting, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, payroll, and compensation and benefits. At Lamb, Shannon holds the position of Managing Director of Human Resources where she oversees the daily operation of all human resources functions.

Shannon earned her BA from La Salle University, her MS from Sacred Heart University and a MJ from Tulane University Law.

Jennifer S. Moran

Assistant General Counsel and Senior Insurance Advisor

Jennifer is a seasoned attorney with an expertise in insurance coverage and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Lamb, Ms. Moran was Assistant General Counsel at Star Stone Insurance Holdings Limited (formerly Torus Insurance Holdings, Ltd.), Senior Counsel at Tokio Marine HCC and, most recently, Associate General Counsel for the Generali U.S. Branch. She was responsible for drafting, reviewing and approving legal documents, maintaining all federal and state company licenses, providing due diligence support in connection with strategic initiatives, and providing legal and regulatory support for the property and casualty underwriting units. Ms. Moran learned the claims’ side of insurance while at Markel Corporation. Here she investigated, negotiated and settled complex coverage claims. Her formative years in the industry saw Ms. Moran working as Division Counsel at American International Group (AIG) and then as a Vice President and broker for Marsh & McClennan where she negotiated and placed management liability insurance for Fortune 500 companies.

Carl Motts

Managing Director of Information Technology

Carl joined Lamb Insurance Services in the summer of 2013 as an intern. He began to take on various functions including IT helpdesk, software development, data analysis, and learning the insurance operations. Carl now oversees the day-to-day IT operations and works closely with other strategic partners to continue to provide efficient systems and products at Lamb.

Carl earned a M.S. in Computer Science from St. Joseph’s University and a B.S. in Meteorology with a focus in Risk Management from The Pennsylvania State University along with a minor in Energy, Business, and Finance.

Sean Cousart

Director of Client Services, PA

Prior to joining our team Sean was a Director of Commercial Lines at Grundy Insurance where he oversaw and grew the commercial lines department book of business. Before this, Sean was an Account Manager at Grundy Insurance where he was the head of the Special Dealers’ Program and specialized in commercial insurance for antique vehicle dealers.
Sean graduated from Saint Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

Chris Dunlap

Director of Risk Management and Loss Control

Chris is the Director of Risk Management for Lamb Insurance Services, leading the Claims & Risk Control functions for the organization. Chris and his team serve as advocates for Lamb clients, helping to prevent and mitigate losses, and manage claims when losses occur. This holistic approach to risk management enables clients to better control their cost of risk across the enterprise.

Prior to joining Lamb, Chris led a regional claims & risk control team for Hub International, a top 5 global insurance broker. Chris’ experience also includes tenure as a risk manager at the Ralph Lauren Corporation, and as a risk control consultant at a CNA Insurance. Chris holds a Master’s of Science in Safety Management from IUP, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance from Rutgers University.

Peter OBrian

Director of Field Operations

Peter joined Lamb in 2018, bringing over 25 years of executive leadership experience. Prior to joining Lamb, Peter worked at a prominent Fortune 150 company, heading up numerous Marketing, Sales and Customer Experience organizations, with roles including Vice President of North American Marketing Communications and Vice President of North American Creative Services and Data Analytics. Peter’s role at Lamb includes oversight of all day-to-day sales operations, external marketing and customer experience management.

Peter earned his MBA from the University of Rochester’s Simon School, holds a BS in Marketing from Niagara University and has attained a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Dustin Worthman

Director of Sales

Dustin joined Lamb Insurance Services in 2016. Dustin oversees business development for Pennsylvania and New Jersey and the surrounding areas. Prior to becoming a Regional Director of Sales, Dustin was both a Client Executive and a Senior Client Executive here at Lamb. Preceding his time at Lamb, he was also a Marine Insurance Producer at the J. Byrne Agency in Wildwood, New Jersey. Dustin is an expert in Supportive Housing, Behavioral Health, and Home Health Care organizations.

Dustin earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operations at York College of Pennsylvania.

Dan Colombo

Director of Sales

Daniel joined Lamb Insurance Services in 2018. Daniel oversees business development for the Mid-Atlantic Region and the surrounding areas. Prior to joining the Lamb team, Daniel worked at a well-known nonprofits including Public Health Management Corporation and Philadelphia Eagles Youth Partnership. He also consulted in HR and IT for nonprofits as well. Daniel is an expert in helping nonprofits identify areas for coverage improvement, finding cost saving opportunities, and providing an overall better client service experience.

Daniel earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Drexel University.
